You play a 5- or 6-string electric violin? Then you probably have some issues with your bows, just like many other musicians. The reason being that for this kind of use no bow was available. Such a bow would have to be:

• as light as a violin bow - for speed and agility

• as strong as a viola bow - to make good use of the C- and even the F-string.

• producing almost no noise - as this gets very audible over the amplifiers.

• offering a perfectly secure hold - even when it's getting really hot on stage.

So far no traditional wooden bow or any "normal" carbon bow fulfils all these requirements.

The story behind the Vega: We learned some time ago from musicians and dealers that our viola Sonata and Sinfonia bows make a great tool for playing 5- and 6-strings. So we decided to make a frog halfway the size between a violin and viola, and give it a very ergonomic and modern design. The amount of hair is also optimised for this use.

Other important points are the unique robustness and the insensibility against humidity - which can be great advantages on stage.
